So, what would compel the leader of a nation or several nations in this case to cause greater harm to their country men and women? Why would Western leaders agree to sanction Russian goods and commodities only to buy them through a third party at a higher rate?
In my opinion, the first reason speaks the true nature of the relationship between current leaders and those who follow them. Ultimately, the main reason would have to be that they thought the truth would never be discovered. They thought that no one would uncover the fact that instead of buying from Russia at a reasonable rate, they would skirt US sanctions and purchase things like Russian oil through an intermediary like India at a higher rate.
This is what Hungarian and other Western leaders did to appease their masters in America who only seek to appease their masters the oligarchs who they truly and solely serve. They chose to forsake their own people to show allegiance to America which didn't even honor the Russian sanctions it imposed on all of its allies. If America buys billions of tons of Uranium from Russia, how can it expect all others to buy, sell or trade with the country? While the hypocrisy exhibited by American leaders is not new, it is growing in its reach, effects and severity of outcomes. As countries in the European Union are learning, American hegemony has a price that America itself is only starting to realize. While Russia's economy has gotten stronger since it's war with Ukraine began, Western countries and their citizens are feeling the effects of stagnant to decline economic outcomes.
Here in the US, the hypocrisy of our leaders goes mostly unnoticed as our population chooses to be blissfully ignorant to the failing policies that are accelerating America's decline as much of the world moves towards de-dollarization. Here in America, most ignored the fact that as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton approved the sale of 20% of US Uranium to Russian interests while her campaign concocted the Russiagate narrative against Donald Trump. Americans actually did NOT put together the fact that the Clinton campaign was projecting their actions onto Trump, with whom the Russians didn't even want to conduct business. It never ceases to amaze me how often Clinton's campaign projected their own behavior onto Trump and the voting Public never caught onto this. It amazes me to this day how many of the things every Democrat predicted Trump would do is ignored as Joe Biden does them. There are too many to list, but my favorite has got to be how Trump would ruin America's standing amongst its allies and enemies. Trump will ruin America is still the narrative, even as Joe Biden is ruining America... How do you pick a Vice President that dumber than Sarah Palin? You would have to work at being that stupid.
So, in the "opposite world" in which we now live, Bidenomics is a success as unemployment numbers rise with inflation, new jobs numbers fall along with hopes for the American dream. And, in Europe, the citizens wonder when any acceptable outcomes will come from all the money sent to Ukraine to win a war they were supposedly going to last year, before they started conscripting teenage boys and old men for the slaughter. When Russian and Chinese leaders are the ones talking peace, while America, France and other Western nations bang to drums of war, the world can be considered nothing but upside down.
And when the price paid for leadership that only sees war as the solution is the deaths of millions, the time seems right for a worldwide revolution. It's not just American leaders who are willing to sacrifice their own people, it's any country that is pushing for proxy wars. It's any country that supports or recently supported genocide while the proof was so readily available. It's any country that help created the very terrorists they later demonized to justify killing of combatants and innocents alike. Those leaders are pushing us all to economic ruin as well as more dire outcomes and they won't stop themselves.

The book also offers a means to hold their leaders up, not just to a higher standard than is currently accepted but to one that would improve their lives and the lives of those for whom they care.
